I work in the travel industry and recently returned from a 7 night cruise aboard the Jewel to the Western Caribbean. This was my 2nd cruise with NCL and my first with Freestyle dining. I have been on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Dolphin and Holland America in the past. I really enjoyed the cruise and ports.

First let me tell you about the ship and cruise. Miami is an easy port to get in and out of. One note is that if you are parking at the Cruise ship terminal is they do not take credit cards near the NCL ship. Cash is 84.00 for 7 days, however you are literally a few hundred feet from the ship.

THE ROOM -- We were upgraded to a Balcony stateroom which was wonderful. The room size was adequate, king bed 4 drawers, 2 nightstands, ample closet space and a separate shower and toilet area in the confines of the bathroom. The size of the bathroom was a little larger than normal, however nowhere near the size of a normal house bathroom. Small makeup area and a loveseat and coffee table to watch tv. The cabin had a rich wood grain look to it. Tv, phone, refrig and ice bucket came in handy. My only complaint is that there is no upper sheet on the bed as they use a down comforter.
