We live a few hours away from Quebec City and we took a train from Ottawa to Quebec City and spent a night there before boarding the ship. Embarkation was extremely quick with no lineups at all. Had lunch in the dining room and luggage was delivered in good time to our cabin. We had a table for 8 and met our dinner mates and enjoyed their company over the 15 days. The line-up for breakfast in the main dining room was extremely slow the first couple of mornings. Not enough staff to bring people to tables. Slow line-ups at other times as well to be seated.
Our first port was La Baie, Saguenay where we were greeted with music and dance and singers at the dock. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We took the HOHO bus and went to the show put on by hundreds of townspeople called La Fabuleuse and it was wonderful. Best port of the whole trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the other ports and had some wonderful seafood - especially Halifax and Bar Harbour. Port Canaveral was the worst port. It was a Sunday and there was no shuttle or bus so we went back on the ship rather than take a taxi to a shopping mall. The disembarkation went smoothly in Fort Lauderdale. Weather was quite good the whole fifteen days except for a light rain in Charlottetown where we rented a car and drove to Cavendish.
Pleasant surprise that we had a floor to ceiling window and view was quite good for a partial obstruction. We could see between the lifeboats.
