Arrival at the port of NY was about 11:30am. The lines were crazy to get our room keys. It moved very quickly and we were given a number and told to have a seat. Our number was 29. They didn't even start calling numbers yet. We expected a long wait with all the people who were there. Much to our surprise we were on the ship within 35 minutes. Our cabin was ready. The buffet at that time was VERY crowded. There were several restaurants that were open as well. Had something to eat and started to find our way around the ship. It is beautiful, muted colors, very calming and relaxing. Looks like an upscale hotel. The cabin we had was a balcony cabin. The space is very effecient regarding storage. We had a sofa next to the balcony. (some of the rooms have the bed next to the balcony,) These rooms were the same size as ours but looked bigger. The sofa had lots of storage under it. We never used it. There is plenty of storage in the closet. Limited TV.. but I'm not there to watch TV. We had a great time the entire week. Always something to do or you could just hang by the pool.. The ships officers are very visable. Had dinner at two of the specialty restaurants. The Italian restaurant and Modernos. Both were very good. If you have never been to Modernos It is a must and worth the $20.00 Only problem we had there was the staff really didn't pay much attention to the red card. Other nights we ate at the complimentry restaurants. We did not care for the Manhatten Room. All the crew were smiling and kidding around. Always willing to help if needed. We did not go to the Spa. Mostly because of the cost. Seemed much higher then other NCL ships. ( even when the ship was in port ) We had a wonderful time and would go on the Breakaway again. Loved the show Rock of Ages.. IT IS NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!! There are several warnings about the show. Burn the Floor was just ok. Second City was good.

Cabin Review

Comfortable room. Lots of storage. Slightly larger balcony. Your luggge will fit under the foot of the bed giving you even more closet space. Plenty of hangers as well as shelves. Storage under sofa.
