We just returned from a week on the Carnival Dream. I travelled with my 2 sons (9 and turned 12 the day of debarkation). We had a wonderful time on the Dream.
Embarkation and debarkation were both excellent. We had Fast to the Fun and got priority but the regular lines looked short as well. We were on the ship in 15 minutes and off in about the same amount of time. This always makes for happy travellers.
We were in stateroom 12216. It was a lovely stateroom but a HUGE mistake. I would NEVER stay in that stateroom again or 12225 for that matter as it would have the same issue. We were right by the waterslide stairs. Someone posted that the room is noisy when the waterslides were open. I thought that was no big deal because they open at 9am (we are morning people and up much earlier than this) and they close at dusk. What I didn’t realize is that the hundreds of teenagers would run and up and down them at all hours of the night. Sometimes at 3am I would hear BANG BANG BANG as they jumped down the stairs. Also there is a door outside of 12216 that leads to the deck. There is a sign on the door saying that it is only for spa cabins and the regular door was to the right. At night people would use the spa cabin door and the wind would SLAM it shut. Also, the deck parties were very loud and we could hear the music like we were there. Our room steward was wonderful and it was nice to open the door and be immediately on deck, however, this did not outweigh the noise.
