The Norwegian Getaway is EPIC! We just returned from a family vacation on the Getaway and everybody (Grandma, Mom and Dad, 9-year old triplets) had an absolutely stellar time. We have cruised before but this ship and their crew are top notch. It truly caters to everybody, every age and has so many options of entertainment, dining, shopping, relaxing and having fun. The staterooms are large, the staff/hospitality is unbelievably accommodating, the shows are extraordinaire, the food is fantastic and the best we have had on a cruise ship with so many options to choose from ON YOUR SCHEDULE. It is a beautiful ship! We pulled into different ports next to other cruise lines and talked with other cruisers from those ships. Hands down, Getaway is the ticket to paradise. We highly recommend it for singles, families and seniors since they cater to everybody.

The only suggestion I have is to avoid the Atlantis Half-Day Excursion in the Bahamas. Save your money; it's not worth the large investment for the limited time you get there. It is a 6 hour excursion but you truly only get about 4 hours in Atlantis which is not enough time, especially when it was as crowded as it was when we were there over Spring Break 2014 (5 other cruise ships were at port at the same time). If you really want to see it, buy the passes directly and get a taxi right when you get off the ship to avoid the time-consuming bus rides and walking tour by the Atlantis reps. If you get there at noon or after, good luck trying to find a lawn chair and hopefully the lines won't be "1-hr waits" to get on the slides. The raging river was super fun and cool and so was the aquatic life on the grounds (rays, sharks, colorful fish).

Love the evening dance parties on the back Spice H20 deck everynight. Also loved the nighly shows. Burn the Floor was outstanding. Take advantage of the dance lessons their dancers offer and the Tropicana Supper Club when they perform. They are amaingly talented dance professionals that will WOW you. Legally Blonde and Illusionarium were impressive as well as were the Stand-Up Comedians and Dueling Pianos. Our kids loved the ropes course, basketball court, mini golf, climging wall, bungee jumping, bowling and zip line. We all "walked the plank" 18 stories above the ocean. Breathtaking! Read more
