Despite enormous size the ship never felt over crowded except the promenade when we first boarded. Some reviewers complain about windjammer being hard to find a seat. We had no problems in the windjammer or anywhere else with finding a seat. We traveled with 3 generations of experienced cruisers. Everyone agreed it was exceptional. The teenagers especially like the cruise with the variety of activities available. We have been on a number of RCCL ships and found the Allur's food to be the best of all. This is due to executive Chef, Derek McKnight's high standards. The food is hot, well seasoned, and prepared with attention to appearance and texture. The standard pizza and burger service, long a weak spot for RCCL, continues to lag. This is the only venue where Chef McKnights efforts fell short. I wish RCCL would make his practices a standard across the fleet. The only other negative was the temperature in the cabin and many public spaces. To be fair this is an increasing problem in other ships and cruise lines. I think they are trying to save money on AC but feel its a false economy. We took a small electric fan for our room which made it bearable. These few negatives should not mask what a great overall experience the Allure provides. Entertainment, activities, and quality of service were all top notch. Ship still looks great with no signs of wear and tear. Amazingly, it functions on a very human scale despite the immense size of the vessel.

Room in very good shape. Flat screen TV. Muted colors. Very clean. Bathroom has a nice layout and seemed a bit bigger than many other contemporary vessels. Temperature was bit too warm for our taste. This has become common on other ships and cruise lines. They are trying to save money on the AC but I think its a false economy. Some of the public spaces were too warm, as well. We took a small electric fan which made the cabin bearable. The inside cabins across the hall seemed a tad cooler. Balcony view was unobstructed. Room was quiet. No machinery sounds or disturbances from bars, etc. Drains in bath fixtures worked well. Steam in bath was quickly exhausted. Mattress was probably passed its prime but not objectionable. Good variety of lighting that could be controlled for different levels of illumination. Overhead lights exacerbated the temperature problem so we left them on as little as possible. There are the usual scant number of electrical outlets so we took a power tap for all our chargers.
