This was my husband and mine 2nd cruise and our kids (15 and 13) first cruise. We were so excited to take them because we loved our first cruise. The pro's about the cruise...when we could get off the ship and do the excursions. On Coco Cay we did Stingray City which we all loved. Coco Cay itself was like being at a theme park. We perhaps are spoiled when it comes to the Bahama's as we have been to Abaco and found that to be more beautiful and clean. Nassau was dirty, smelled like urine. Our excursion snorkeling, Rainbow reef was great, the crew was just ok, not overly friendly, you are just a number to them. The reef was nice with an assortment of fish which they fed with bread. The have a bar on board which you have to pay some ridiculous prices for a drink. Our cabin steward was awesome, our first night dining room server was awesome. The cruise director Mercedes and activities director Nicolo(I think that was his name) were awesome, though we felt that some activities around the pool were not kid appropriate. We did not feel this was a family cruise but more for couples or younger people who like to drink a lot. We purchased the soft drink package which was a waste as the bartender's were annoyed whenever we asked to have our cups filled, so much to the point that my kids didn't even want to go up to the bar to get a drink. We had dinner at one of the specialty restaurants, Giovanni's Table. When we made the reservations we saw nothing about a dress code. We didn't pack dress clothes since we weren't doing the formal night. When on board, I saw in the daily paper that Giovanni's doesn't like you to wear shorts. Unfortunately, that's all we had for the kids and my husband had nice dress shorts with a button down shirt. He looked nicer than some people in there with pants on, yet the Host looked us up and down disapprovingly before seating us, then had an attitude. I wanted to leave! Thankfully our waiter, Ali was awesome! The food was good and the rest of the evening was better. We did do Johnny Rockets one night which was good other than the obnoxious drunk guy who was yelling and screaming so much we had to move our table, not one person had the guts to tell him to calm down and be quiet. Dinner in the main dining room was not kid friendly at all...we sit down for a family meal and there wasn't a lot of food that my younger son ate, or me for that matter. We did do the buffet which was ok. There weren't a lot of activities that families could do together at night, and not a lot for the kids to do. There are two pools, one wasn't working for one day but then it was filled the next day. They pools are small and pretty crowded. We won't be going on another cruise on Royal Carribbean. I was disappointing and to be honest our cruise on Carnival was much better.

Cabin Review

Small....hard with 4 people.
