Embarkation on 4/5/14-out of New York was a breeze! Lines moved quickly and check in was easy. Me and my pal Mauricio located our cabin and quickly made our way to the very nice Garden Cafe Buffet. I was in HEAVEN!! It was a lush garden of FOOD!!! LOL. The Buffet offered a variety of food-asian,indian,american, grilled foods-hamburgers, hot dogs, assorted pastries, assorted icecream-( butter pecan, chocolate, vanilla ) and SPRINKLES!! My previous cruise with another cruise line didnt offer sprinkles & I was sorely disappointed.

Anyway, we had to pass thru the pool area to get to the garden cafe and the pool area consisted of 2 pools & 2 hot tubs. One pool for kids/adults and another one strictly for adults. The kids pool had a cool water flume. There were plenty of deck chairs and an entertainment gazebo in the center where musical groups such as "new Season" would rock it out with Caribbean music. ( they are a phenomenal group) It was a great area to just hang out and listen to good music. The ship itself was colorful and the carpeting was vibrant- blues, oranges with nautical images of fish, dolphins. Very pretty. On each floor by the stairs, there were huge pics of whales & various marine life- quite beautiful to see.

Our cabin-room 5506-Inside/oceanview with porthole was very good. I was concerned about being in a room with just a porthole, but it was quite good. It offered plenty of sunshine and the room was a good size for 2 people. The bathroom shower had a glass door, which I liked, and it was a decent size. Our cabin Steward-Garfield was such a cool dude. He was friendly & very respectful. We enjoyed chatting with him on the few days we didnt sleep late. LOL. He kept our room clean & tidy and kept the room stocked with clean towels.

Cabin Review

I was hesitant booking the ocean view/porthole since I've always stayed in a balcony room. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable enough for 2 people and there was plenty of sunshine . I never felt claustrophobic , which was great!! The twin size beds were comfortable & the mini fridge was cold & stocked with assorted beverages ( fee). The bathroom was decent & the shower had a sliding glass door, which I felt was better than a shower curtain. Overall-very good room.
