We just cruised on the Epic from 4-13 to 4-20....drove to Miami & stayed at the Red Roof Inn by the airport. Warning: they only have ONE (maybe 2) "free" shuttles to the Port & don't start until 1PM. We took a taxi (approx. $30, including tip) to the Port (parking was free for 7 days at the Red Roof.) Got there w/no problems & check-in was a breeze! Waited approx. an hour & then boarded. Amazed at the size! This was our 13th cruise & by far the biggest ship. Went to the Wave Bar on 15 until Cabin was ready. Did an inside (11252). HATE the bathroom arrangement! Unless you're deaf or REALLY like each other, the toilet is unacceptable for more than one person in the room at a time....we're not "shy," but this was beyond normal. Shower, mini-fridge, bed, etc., were fine....Room Steward was good & other than toilet, had no problems, other than the Key Cards kept "flashing" Red....had to try several times, numerous times a day.
The Garden Café (buffet) was, by far, the best we've ever encountered! Also went to Moderno's (twice) & Le Bistro....food was excellent! Service, throughout the Ship, exceeded our expectations...think that's a tribute to the Captain & the F&B Director (who we knew from the NCL Sun).
Check out the Spice H2O during the day (for adults only until 6pm). MUCH more quiet & relaxed than around the pool. Also check out the Bridge Viewing Room on Deck 13 - Starboard.....great stuff!
hated the bath (toilet). shower was "across" the room & was fine. everything else was OK.
