We have taken 5 previous cruises, 3 on Celebrity, 1 on Holland America, and 1 on Royal Caribbean. Was not expecting to be wowed by this ship, but after having spent 2 glorious weeks with the Eclipse, we were!

We had a concierge level room (1150), great location. Great room. Hardly noticed any ship movement... of course in the Caribbean, it really doesn't matter as the seas were smooth as glass. Was surprised to find we had a nice sized shower...that was great, bathroom was laid out great, except the sink faucet was too long and it was difficult to get your face down to wash it without getting water on the floor...minor nuisance. Bedding and mattress were A+.. I felt like I was home on my Tempurpedic.. Celebrity has this nailed! Fridge was nice, but stocked with too much of their stuff. I could put a couple of bottles of water and a can of soda in and that's about all. Closets were OK but still a little tight...always have to ask for extra hangers. Had a he...of a time figuring out the lighting system... once you have it down, it is very convenient as you can turn of main lights from your bed and also have a nice reading light over the bed.. Good engineering. TV gets lots of channels, including movies. Could hop the stairs a couple of flights and be on pool deck or in the OceanView Cafe in no time. Elevators were glass and there was a huge tree suspended in the center of 4 banks of elevators. Hard to describe, but very cool.

This ship was big and even with all the people on-board we never felt crowded or had to fight for a chair on pool deck. This ship had some nifty awnings (looked like sails) that allowed those of us who did not want full sun to get some shade. The Moonlight Sonata main restaurant had great dishes most nights including Chateaubriand, veal cordon-bleu, rack of lamb, lobster, prime rib, sea bass, and a lot of other good choices. Aqua Spa Cafe was great for healthy options...and I had plenty of great coffees and almond croissants at Cafe Boccia. One of the most unique things about the Eclipse was the real grass yard up on deck 15. People played games on it or just laid on a towel and enjoyed a glass of wine and a snack. There was also a Corning Glass Blowing setup as well with 2 large furnaces... great demonstrations...did not think I would like it, but I got hooked on it. I have always enjoyed sitting on the back of the ship and enjoying the openness. The Eclipse has a unique 3 level back deck with plenty of tables, chairs and couches to enloy. We enjoyed this ship so much, we will be looking for another cruise we can take on it in the near future.
