After much research my wife and I thought we would try the MSC cruise line. We have been on over 15 cruises on many of the cruise lines but this was the first time on MSC.

The long and short of it was:

The fabulously promised food was just marginally above average. The breads, pastries and pasta were all good but that was about it. The dining room servers were all very nice, but just focused on doing their job. No chit chat or nice-ities discussed. Almost everything else was an additional charge and the specialty restaurants were so limited in their offerings that we passed them up. Also the café was very expensive for what you got and there were never many people there.

Cabin Review

Cabin 11297:The room steward (who never formally introduced himself to us and the only reason I knew who he was when I went to find him was his card was left on our vanity)and his manager as well as the customer service rep refused to allow us to have lounge chairs on our extended balcony no matter who I asked. Our cabin was 11297 on the back (starboard) port side. That was the biggest letdown because we like to hang out on our balcony, and what’s the use of paying for one that big if you can’t at least have a lounge. The furniture as just two straight-backed chairs and a cigarette-burned foot rest. It was so bad we never even had breakfast delivered to the cabin. The area to the right of our cabin was a stairway and the crew hung out there and smoked and talked on their phones. Not pleasant at all.
