We were so looking forward to our cruise in Alaska. Celebrity Cruises was marketed and billed as more sophisticated, great service and great food. This being our sixth cruise and the first on Celebrity, others were on Royal Caribean, we were so looking forward to the experience, boy were we disappointed! There were 41 of us in a group and this being the first celebrity cruise for most of us in the group and we were all disappointed!

The service was bad to mediocre, dining service was slow, disorganized, food was good for processed food, it certainly was not a culinary delight. It was also odd, that the ship did not offer any dinner options that included local food such as crab or salmon. The bar service for the most part was slow, with the exception of two bartenders, most of the bartenders had the personality of a wet dishrag, they wouldn't smile, interact in anyway, it was obvious that there was a lot of tension among the crew, especially the bar staff. As for the ship itself, its old and tired, I personally don't like smelling the sewage everyday in the halls, different parts of the ship, but we smelled it. Our bathroom didn't work for half day and it was obvious something was leaking in the hall outside our stateroom and the lenth of the hall.

We noticed right away that there wasn't good energy onboard. Something was missing.... The bright side to the cruise were the entertainers on board along with the ship entertainers. They all did a fabulous job, the shows were wonderfully entertaining.
