This was our first cruise, and voyage for that matter, aboard Carnival. We were in the Grand Suite, so we had priority check-in and early embarkation. We also purchased the F2F for early debarkation and for the early tender option. Embarkation couldn’t have been smoother, but I had hoped to sit in the VIP lounge prior to embarking. It was full, so we had to sit right outside the room, yet we still had the same treatment when we were called to board. Not a big deal.

When we stepped on board, we went directly to our suite and settled in, hoping out luggage would follow shortly after like promised. It didn’t! So, instead of waiting we headed to Lido for lunch. Decent food, nothing spectacular. When we headed back to our room, we noticed that our luggage was sitting in the middle of the floor next to the elevators, unattended. This is hours after we should have gotten our luggage. My husband grabbed our luggage so it’s wouldn’t get stolen (several bags went missing on this trip actually), and took it to the rooms. So much for priority!

That night, we hit the Fantasy dining room for dinner. Our server was fantastic, and food was very good, but from what everyone raved about concerning the chocolate melting cake, well, I wasn’t impressed. This soupy concoction was nothing short of a failed soufflé. We hit the casino after dinner, and then headed to our room early to enjoy the balcony.
