DW and I are seasoned cruisers with 14 under our belt most with Carnival. Our past cruises have all been in the 7-8 night range on all the newer ships including two each on the Dream and Breeze. So we probably had less than big expectations for a three night cruise on a 90's era, though retro-fitted, ship. This was a much needed quick get-a-way for us and our hearts and minds always turn to cruising when we need a break.
Embarkation was painless and quick. Boarding started at 11:30 and the Captain's Lounge at this terminal was as nice as we have been in. Went directy to Cabin with FTTF program. Cabin ready. Our one bag not delivered until well past 3:00. Not an issue as we were "pool" ready! and enjoying the decks by 12:15
The ship was clean and well maintained but dated in general decor. Really not an issue with us. Easy to get around and we especially liked the Lido dining area aft. Spectacular place to have the Deli and Pizza stations. We ate all of our meals here and never entered the dining room.
We were in cabin V-27, obstructed view Jr. suite. Just like a regular balcony cabin on most other newer ships. Blacony smaller and the obstructed view was over a small work boat and 1/2 of a regular life boat. Still nice views and very adequate, Nicely furnished and well maintained by a very attenttive steward. Very quite part of the ship forward
