This is the 4th time hat we have cruised to Alaska. The first three were from either Seattle or Vancouver and were 7 day round-trips. We wanted to try one that al the way to Seward. Our stateroom was Aquaclass and having recently sailed a few months ago on the Summit from San Juan to Cape Liberty, NJ, we have the ability to compare them. The room on the Summit had its problem because right across from the door was a workroom that the room stewards used and woke us up every day at 6AM. The Millennium's cabin that we had didn't have a workroom across from it but it had a sewer smell that was terrible from the minute we checked into the room. I went down to Guest relations to change the room but they said that was impossible since the ship was full. So I asked for the bathroom to be cleaned again since I thought that might be the problem. That was done quickly but didn'r solve the problem. So the first night of the cruise weI almost had to put a mask over our faces to keep from gagging from the sewer smell. So back to Guest Relations the next morning to complain to the officer in charge of Guest relations. I told him something was wrong with the drainage system in the shower as I had to put a towel over the shower drain the night before stem the smell a little. So he sent someone to the room again to clean out the shower drain which made it better for a few days. The smell returned in a few days to a lesser extent but now we were sort of use to it and apparently it was not going to get a lot better so I stopped complaining. As we walked through the ship's passageways, we noticed the same sewer smell in different parts of the ship so it must be a shipwide problem that isn't discussed to the passengers.

The Aquaclass restaurant, Blu, was great and run a lot better than the one on the Summit. The food that was supposed to be hot, was , unlike the Summit's Blu restaurant. The ship's itinerary was basically the same as a 7 day roundtrip with the exception of not going into Glacier bay but into another bay that was pretty much the same that was off of the Pacific. Then a day at sea and offload at Seward. We rented a car in Seward (expensive) and drove arounf for 3 days. If you stay at a hotel in this area, stay at the Alyeska Resort and take their ski lift gondola to the Glacier restaurant up 2300 feet. The food is great and the view is tremendous. Stay at the Capatin Cook hotel in Anchorage. Take a float plane trip for 2 hours each way to Katmai National Park where you will see more grizzley bears that you can count while they are catching salmon as they go upriver. This is one of the greatest day trips you can take. You fly right next to blue tinted glaciers on the way back. Catch the floatplane right across the street from the Anchorage airport. About $800 per person.
