Took our grandson on Miracle's Alaskan cruise..7 days out of Seattle..July 8-15, 2014. We generally cruise 3-4 times per year and have wanted to try the Alaska trip especially if we could take our grandson on his first cruise! We have sailed different lines, including other Carnival ships, Princess and otheres. Chose Miracle due to itinerary, departure date/location and price. We were not disappointed with our choice of Carnival again.

Let me say that we have many relatives and friends who have done Alaska, both cruising and extended travel....all forewarned us about the weather potential and we we prepared for cool, wet if needed. But we weren't prepared for almost 4 days out of 7 to be almost totally socked in due to FOG.

One positive note was that while we were walking around in the lousy weather, so were other passengers from other cruise lines....notably Regent, who paid a WHOLE LOT MORE than I did...and the higher price didn't assure them of any better weather either..BUT, they did carry Regent logo umbrellas. A nice touch.

Cabin Review

GREAT stateroom for an Alaskan cruise, or any cruise where you have scenery. Problem was, the heavy FOG prevented us from enjoying that view for half the cruise.Room is way out the way, of course, so no hallway traffic or noise. NO noise from dining room below. Vibration from engine pods was a bit high. Long way to go to Camp Carnival. Laundry across hall diagonally..never heard a thing. Easy access to dining up or down. Short cut down to deck 3 for promenade.
