This is my 2nd cruise. I previously travelled on Celebrity to Alaska a few years ago. We picked the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas as it had 5 ports of call and got a great deal. Our travel dates were June 28 to July 5. We arrived in San Juan at around 2 pm and took a taxi from the airport to the cruise ship terminal ($23 plus tip). Check in was a breeze at the terminal and on the ship. After leaving our bags in our room and having lunch at the Windjammer Cafe, we took a taxi to the Old Fort (San Cristobal) which was beautiful with great views and then walked around old San Juan and did some shopping before returning to the ship.

The ship itself was in good condition, was very clean and had lots of little lounge areas. We didn't spend a lot of time on the ship due to having an excursion every day, but of the time we spent on it, we enjoyed it.

We had an ocean view cabin, which was small, but adequate for 2 people. The dresser and mirror area had ample storage space, as did the closet. The bathroom was also very small, but clean - with minimal amenities - only soap is provided. Our stateroom attendant was exceptional and cleaned our bathroom twice a day, once in the morning, and also in the evening, after we had showered after our excursions! We had a cabin on the fourth floor, close to the end of the ship and could feel the ship move from time to time- I would suggest a more centrally located cabin, on a higher floor.
