Just got back from a cruise to Alaska. It was everything I hoped it would be. From beginning to end, my family was impressed with what the Solstice offered. To start, every employee of the ship we encountered was very friendly, courteous and accommodating. Our cabin was a Verandah stateroom with balcony that slept four. The room was mid ship near the elevators. Did not hear the elevators or people going by.The cabin was decorated nicely and had much more storage than we expected, even in the bathroom. We managed to fit 7 pieces of luggage and all our hanging and drawer items. Our balcony was an added plus to the trip and sitting there at any hour of the day was a memorable experience. The food was delicious and plentiful. If you're not into the dining room scene, the buffet will satisfy you. You can wear causal clothes there (causal clothing even seen in the dining room). The ship had many nice touches, including daily inspirational messages from the Captain, a Great Cruise Director, Corning Museum glass shows, a top deck with artificial grass (which looks real) where you can lay down or play boci ball. There are also two kids groups for families that want a little separation. My sons' loved spending time at the outdoor basketball half court on the top deck. The kids gravitated to that place. The entertainment was top notch. Don't miss Jason Bishop (Illusionist) or Mike Price (Rock Star Juggler). For a small price, the boat even arranged to take our luggage to the airport and issued our boarding passes for the plane home. Can't wait to go back on another Celebrity trip. Have read some negative reviews. Hard to imagine these people were on the same trip as my family. Did not experience any of the negatives they commented on. I think people can be just demanding and overly picky. Just sit back and enjoy.

Cabin Review

Cruise cabins are going to be small, but we comfortably fit four people in ours. Two slept in Queen size bed, one in sofa bed, which was light mattress over sofa, and one in a Pullman bed that came down from ceiling. The room steward was very dependable and came in every early evening to lower the Pullman for the night. Much more storage in main room and in bathroom than expected. Bathroom a nice size. The balcony was incredible and large. Room located in mid ship near elevators but quiet. Wouldn't hesitate to have same type of room for another trip.
