First of all, this was our second P&O cruise after a gap of 13 years, we had low expectations about the ship, food and service but were determined to have a great time and with such a bargain price for this cruise, we were sure it would be achievable. It was a four night cruise to nowhere (no ports) out of Sydney.
Boarding was really easy, got the shuttle to White Bay from Central at 12.40pm for $15 and was on-board by 1.15pm in what was a very efficient process. Our Cabin was a Guarantee Inside and we ended up on Deck 6 forward (6121), which was close to all the necessary areas, on 5, 6 and 7 Shops, Charlies, Connexions and the Orient bars, the Marquee Theatre and the Waterfront restaurant. The cabin was clean, roomy and had lots of storage (only two of us for a possible 4 berth). Lester our cabin attendant was friendly and attentive.
The ship was looking a bit tired and worn but overall was not too bad, a lot smaller than the ships we have been on recently though. Some areas seemed to be quite crowded and when the weather got a bit rough the noise and movement was very evident with the whole ship shuddering and groaning.
