It was our first time with Fred Olsen. We boarded at Southampton, it was quite slow considering the size of the ship, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was a lovely ambience on board. The crew were wonderful as on all the cruise ships. The excursions were ok, but do book before you go as we were unable to visit Hamburg as it was fully booked. The food was the best we had ever had and we have been on many cruise lines. The professional entertainment was excellent, there were two comedians who were just hilarious.

We really enjoyed ourselves and felt we would become regular Fred patrons, until the second to last evening.We were then victims of the Beauty Salon renovation. The noise and dust were unbearable, our cabin was opposite and we were affected badly with coughing, sore throats and dusty clothes. The staff were well protected with masks etc, but we as paying guests had not even been told. Our protests were ignored and hardly had an apology so I'm afraid that we will not be using Fred Olsen lines again. Sorry Fred, but the welfare and safety of the paying client should be paramount.
