This was my 10th cruise to Bermuda. My first was on the Celebrity Horizon some years back and this sailing on the Summit was my first return to Celebrity since then. In the interim I've made trips to Bermuda on Princess, Holland America and Norwegian.
The Ship--The Summit was in decent shape but our cabin showed signs of wear. the skirting around the bed showed staining and left a bad impression. Likewise the cement on the floor of a balcony was stained in spots with rust looking stains and created a shabby impression. The common areas were well tended but the overall decor is rather cold and not impressive--at least to me.
Activities Aboard--The main activity at sea for most passengers centered around the ships pools. These facilities were wholly inadequate for the very large number of passengers. The chair hogs were out by 6AM spreading towels over every available deck chair and, Celebrity, like other lines did nothing to enforce its own rules regarding this activity. Since cruising went mass market some years back this behavior has increased and detracts from the more genteel and polite behavior that used to be found on cruise ships. There were the usual trivia and dance classes aboard and some golf games around the pool.
