Having only had experiences in larger ships, I was not expecting to have the wonderful adventures that we had while cruising from Venice to Rome with stops in Dubrovnik, Kotor, Taromima, Parga, Amalfi. With only 600 guests on board, within a few days you really felt at home. It was a very upscale crowed with seasoned travelers. The staff could not do enough for you. The food was fabulous; the specialty dining rooms fabulous. I had read that the staterooms were small and the bathrooms were smaller and so I had bought a shoe bag to hang on the bathroom door. No need! there is plenty of space. We didn't take any of the tours from the ships and made our own arrangements which worked out fine. Since we shared the expense with our friends - sometimes we were 2 couples other times 3 couples it turned out to be less expensive and more expansive in covering details, plus we were more flexible if we wanted to wander in the towns.

The only disappointment we had was when one of the ports, Capri, where we were to dock was changed because whomever was in charge in Capri wouldn't allow Azamara tenders to come to Capri and wanted Azamara to use the tenders from Capri's porti. Our captain and crew were very conscientious about everyone's safety and could vouch for the Azamara tenders and so we docked in Sorrento. This cost us about $100 per couple that we felt that Azamara should have paid for since we had to take a ferry from Sorrento to Capri and back.

Would I ever go on a large cruise ship again, I don't think so not after being treated so beautifully by the staff on the Quest.

Cabin Review

The stateroom was comfortable, roomy, clean. The balcony was adequate. The temperature in the cabin perfect. 110/220 electricity. Everything that you needed was available. We were on the 7th floor which is where the self laundry room is - no cost to wash or dry, and soap powder is available too and is an iron. We were midship and didn't feel any movement even during one night that had a storm.
