Sail Date: Aug 2014

Sailed from Miami to St Martin, Puerto Rico and NCL's private island Great Stirrup Cay. Smooth sailing on clean ship, we were happy to hear that about 95% of the announcements were only made in English. (No offense against those who speak languages other than English. I just didn't want to hear every announcement in 14 languages). The two main shows were less of typical Vegas style dance shows and more cirque-style variety shows with great costumes (acrobats, balancing acts, jugglers, etc) Very entertaining!! A+!! No comedians on this cruise. Some of the other shows included a night of opera hits and a night of popular Italian songs. We skipped these shows. I'm sure they were good, but neither appealed to the Ms or I. I'm guessing they were for the large amount of European guests (Yup, expect a large amount of very small speedos around the pool deck :(

If you are taking a cruise specifically for the cheeseburgers, chicken patties, and French fries, this cruise is not for you! The buffet always had a nice selection of pasta dishes. Mediterranean foods, American foods (baked chicken, baked fish, veggies, etc). Pizza available from lunch time till 1AM, I was there every midnight for a few slices! A++ Alcoholic beverages very fairly priced and cheaper than other cruise lines. Nice selection of about 15 bottles beers and up to four different draft beers (depending on the bar). Unlike some other cruise lines, no pressure at all to get photos taken. We chose the self carry-off of own luggage. Very smooth process, were off boat by 700 AM!

My biggest complaints; 1.Sometimes difficult to get a drink any on board as the waitstaff does not approach you and often seem disinterested in making a sale. 2. Instead of a fun sun deck environment, they ruin the environment every afternoon with pool deck bingo (Not one line bingo either, we're talking full card bingo!? (Do that somewhere else, not on the pool deck?) .

Cabin Review

All cabins appear smaller than comparable cabins on other cruise lines. Everything in room was clean and was in proper working order. No irons for use anywhere on ship, so pack your bags carefully!
