Sail Date: Jul 2014

With 77 other guests and 98 crew members we sailed on board m/v Silver Discoverer to Russia via the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands. This was Silversea Expedition’s first voyage to Far Eastern Russia where we would visit Siberia’s Chuckchi people.

It’s no surprise that small ships have small cabins but we were surprised this wasn’t an issue. With full days of off-ship adventures, dining, and socializing we did little but sleep in our cabin which was slightly smaller than average cruise-ship size. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable. The close-fitting bathroom was nicely appointed and functioned well.

With his five-course dinner menus, Chef immediately sank our plan to become thin on this trip. Superb food emerged from his small galley relentlessly, day after day. Service in the handsome and unpretentious dining room was flawless. The same was true everywhere on Silver Discoverer.
