Having sailed this boat in October of 2013 before dry dock, this is a totally different ship. There were four of us in 2 cabins one inside and one ocean view. Embarkation was great due to the fact that my mom had knee surgery 2 weeks before the cruise. They picked us up at the curb with the wheel chair and we were on the boat in about 20 minutes. This was great as it took nearly 2 hours last year. With all the new additions the ship just has a different vibe.
Starting with the food Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina are definitely as good or maybe even better than advertised. The Pizza Pirate is still better pizza than most ships thin and crunchy. The lido buffet is still the same just ok if you are hungry but nothing great. Deli and room service are good. Chocolate cake from room service is excellent. Main dining room was outstanding all week Service was great and the food was also good. The steak house on this trip was not so good. The food was exceptional as it always is but the customer service was just nonexistent. The bar waiter couldn't have been condescending about the wine ordered and even getting water refilled was a chore for them. There were only a few tables in the place so it should not have been a problem. All the little touched from the past like the fresh grated cheese and ground pepper were forgotten on the side board.
The new bars are a great addition to the ship. The Alchemy seemed to be a favorite for all. It was always packed all 3 bartenders Daniel, Tuana and Katsarinya remembered everyones name and what they drank. We were all great friends by the end of the week.
Typical inside room spacious and dark just how we like them. If you need sunlight do not book inside cabins. This was a quiet room 3 rooms from the atrium elevators at midship deck 2.
