I'm very satisfied with our cruise on Queen Victoria to the Baltic and Northern Europe. We have cruised before and this was the best experience. The food was uniformly excellent in the different venues, the entertainment was varied and professional and the service could not be faulted in any way. By way of example of the service that was typical, I dropped the cap of my lipstick one morning while in the stateroom bathroom and it rolled away under the counter's bottom shelf and out of my reach. I considered it lost. However, the room stewardess must have noticed it missing when she made up our room and retrieved and re-placed it. Another example is when I ordered a veggie burger on the pool deck for lunch. I was pleased to see that the cook grilled the patty separately from the beef burgers on a different grill and used clean utensils to flip it. These are just small matters but they show the level of attention and care. I was also told by the executive chef that with two weeks notice a separate vegan menu could be prepared for the entire cruise. This might encourage a vegan family member to come with us another time.

Contrary to what I've read elsewhere, I found the drink prices reasonable at about $7 - $8. There was no pressure in any of the lounges to purchase a drink, however.

To balance my review, I thought there was more ballroom dancing than necessary, from my point of view. It seemed that the same six to ten couples fox trotted and quick stepped around the floor while everyone else watched from the sidelines or were elsewhere on the ship.

Cabin Review

This stateroom was very satisfied although some may find the complete darkness disconcerting. It was a quiet location with no disturbances at any time. The shower although small had excellent water pressure and was simple to operate. The laundry room (which was free and provided free detergent) was about 3 doors away so convenient but not too close. The TV worked well and the bedding was luxurious. There was a small refrigerator. For two people the closet space wasn't ample for a 14 day cruise but we made it work.
