This was our first cruise with Celebrity having previously been on Royal Caribbean ships the Freedom and the Independence of the Seas. We loved it. The ship is not dissimilar to the RCI ships but there is a slightly more low key/restrained atmosphere. The public areas are good and we appreciated the wide variety of public spaces. There were multiple bars and specialty food outlets of course, but also areas where you could just sit and talk. We had found these oddly lacking on the Royal Caribbean ships and they allow passengers more choice and to spread widely around the ship. Our sons found the lounges to be highly useful for late night teen socialising.

Boarding at Venice was a little slow but fairly efficient. We arrived at peak time. There was a 20 minute wait from arrival to checking in and a further 25 minutes before we were then allowed to board. The state room were ready almost as soon as we had boarded (1300 hrs) and the cases arrived soon after.

We had an inside room for our boys (15 & 17) and a balcony room for ourselves. The cabins were fine; big enough and with adequate storage for a shorter cruise. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very good. It was a reasonable size, well appointed and with a spacious and decent shower.

Cabin Review

A fairly standard balcony cabin and no problems of any note. The cabin is well forward in the ship but i doubt that has much effect
