After completing the Eastern portion of our cruise, we prepared for the consecutive cruiser process. RCI held a meeting the day before arriving back in Port Canaveral. The hotel manager indicated the process, which worked just as he said. We had decided to leave the ship around 8:30 and do some laundry for the grandchildren. When we were scanned out, we were given our new seapass cards and red security bands to allow us to go to the front of the line for re boarding through security. Someone forgot to tell the land based RCI agents that that was the process. We ended up in the back of the new cruiser line ups. Probably wasted 20 minutes. Not a big deal, just an indication of communication break downs. Also, food and beverage staff noted that we wanted to remain at the same table for MTD for this cruise. That did not happen, even though later that day I checked with MTD to make sure the computer had been updated. I was told it was. However, when we went to our first dinner our old table was taken and they had to find us a new one. Always recheck your reservations, again and again.

Just to make you aware, that "888" taxis are the only ones allowed to drop at port. Port Canaveral changed the rules, the previous week and instead of just dropping us at the private pick area, they were forced to follow buses to the luggage drop area. We realized that our wait time in a metered cab was going to exceed 40 minutes. So we flagged a port security officer, who accepted that we were consecutive cruisers with no luggage and then allowed the cab to drop us ahead of the buses and close to the security check in.

So if you are B2B in Port Canaveral, arrange for private transfers on change over day to avoid unnecessary time and price costs.

Cabin Review

As on previous cruise, cabins were connected and spacious.
