Sail Date: Aug 2014

Just got back from a two week cruise on the Celebrity Equinox and I have to say I wasn't impressed, I have sailed on the Silhouette before, a cruise I really enjoyed but I'm afraid this cruise fell well below expected standards .. Let me explain

Food,

The food on the ship was sort of okay, but nothing special, certainly not five star .. More three star boarding house fare, we went on the fixed dining for dinner and in the two weeks sent food back repeatedly for being cold, undercooked, full of fat and gristle, served by a waiter who, although tried his best was constantly getting things wrong. The buffet style lunches were crowded, and served by rude staff who grumbled and moaned at simple things like being asked to redo toast so it had at least a little colour. In the two weeks I had to clear and clean my own table at least five or six times while the waiters stood around chatting, unless you were blonde and young of course, then nothing seemed like to much trouble, boys will be boys I suppose.

Cabin Review

Cabin was okay apart from not being able to use the balcony at certain times of day because it is situated directly over a public smoking area and evenings it was packed with noisy smokers and in the balcony area the smell of cigarette smoke was awful .. If you can stay mid ships but go on a higher deck then you are not kept awake by people shouting and screaming until the early hours ..
