My wife and I took our 7th cruise (4th with Celebrity) Aug 3 - 10. The Summit has been refurbished and is quite nice inside but could use some paint outside. It's showing it's age. We were in an S1 Suite. By other Celebrity standards, the suite was relatively small. It really should only be a concierge class stateroom due to its size and the small balcony. We didn't use the main dining room, as the only night that we tried getting in (select dining) there was a very long line of people waiting. Instead, we dined at Qsine twice which was fabulous both times, Blu and Normandy. Great wait staff in all restaurants and the sommelier service was amazing. He/she paired the wines with our food perfectly and never made us wait. (We also had the premium beverage package...highly recommended if you enjoy your fine wines and alcohols) There was one very 'flamboyant' waiter at Qsine who seated us at as he put it, a "very sexy table" who is worth his weight in gold!
The only complaint that I have with this cruise was the smoking policy. I don't care if people smoke in designated smoking areas, however, when they start to creep into non-smoking areas, I object. This was the case more than once in the sunset lounge. Smokers could smoke anywhere from halfway across the bar to the other side of the ship. This is like having a peeing section and a non-peeing section in a pool. It's impossible to get away from it.
The food and service in all restaurants that we dined in was fabulous. Quite excellent. Bar service in all bars was great except at the pool bar where the bartenders (mostly from Jamaica) were unprofessional in there treatment of guests, and in some cases, bordered on rude.
