Aurora. August 2014. Norwegian Fjords. 7 nights, outside cabin.
This was our first cruise, so I cannot make any form of comparison to other cruise lines or specific cruises. However, I would guess that first time reports have a certain cache of their own and so I offer this to the forum having spent a long time reading feedback on all sorts of operators and ships in the month leading up to departure. I was increasingly concerned about just what we had booked given the wide range of reviews of Aurora. Having spent a week with her, I would struggle to recognise the ship based on some of the remarkably negative things that have been submitted. I made excellent use of the brilliant feedback forum, so in the spirit of passing on experiences, here goes. OK, each to their own and there is a good overall percentage rating, but I think it is a fabulous ship and generally it was brilliant. I'll be as honest as I can and list the good and not so good, but I would have to say that I needed to get really picky to get to anything I thought was less satisfactory.
Could do better:
Clean and tidy. TV is outdated but is being upgraded in the November re-fit. Shower is excellent and we did not feel the need for a bath. Generally, very quiet.
