We just got back from our 7 night cruise onboard the Valor. The ports were great and we loved the value for money for this cruise itinerary. The ship is old but very clean and the staff work very hard to keep it that way. Food was hit and miss..we mostly ate in the dining room as the buffet was not as good as other ships. The fish and chips station was a nice addition. We had balcony room and our room steward (Rowena) was outstanding..the best we have had yet. The dining room and entertainment were lacking...not a lot of variety in food or entertainment events. As well, the staff in the dining room were either amazing or very slow depending on who you got. Felipe (cruise director) was hilarious...he wasn't too in your face and really had some good one liners. Two things we didn't like:

- the harassment to buy things from staff everywhere we turned (shots in the dining room, photos, drinks in the casino) it was NON STOP. We are used to being solicited for things but was getting to be a bit much.

- the cutbacks - feels like carnival is taking every step to cut corners to save money and make you pay more for everything once you get on board.
