We have traveled with Viking on 2 previous cruises and had high expectations for this cruise. The 1st night was spent in a hotel because the Prestige had a generator problem. Once the issue was resolved and we were transported to the ship, we expected the same caliber of service we has experienced on previous cruises. However, this was not the case. Issues were: Luggage was not on ship the day when we arrived. ( We had checked out of the hotel at 9 and spend the entire day in Passau therefore there had been plenty of time to load the ship); rooms and baths were lacking in amenities; food was less than expected; we stood in the rain for an hour waiting to board the vessel. Buses were not staggered on excursions and with everyone arriving back on the ship at the same time, it was very unorganized trying to get all 188 people checked in.

The hotel manager (Roy) never explained the situation nor apologized for the inconvenience. The crew and staff seemed to be frustrated by the situation and it showed in the service.

Later the ship developed a sewer issue and the rooms and corridors had a very bad odor. Again no apology from the staff.
