Sail Date: Sep 2014

We were sent a invite to view a P & O ship and choose the Arcadia because it was adult only and because we had seen a cruise we liked during Dec /Jan.

We are so glad we went because we would have wasted a very large amount of money if we had just booked!

Compared with other ships we had sailed on the Arcadia is very dated, even though it was supposed to have had a refit in 2013. The ceilings seem very low even in the dining room were they are usually (on other ships) very open. The dining room itself was dated, The curtains looked old and not luxurious as you would expect in a dining room, some of the dining chairs were scratched and had stains on the upholstery. There was no wow factor, in fairness when you looked up, the first floor dining room did look a bit better with some 'blingy' lights etc. The public toilets near the dining area were terrible, I certainly would not want to use them when I was in my evening clothes. There was no flowers or plants to make the area look better, there was no hand cream - something even local pubs seem to have now and the worst thing was the cubicle itself, the seat was badly stained - not new stains, but from long use. There were not even as good as local shopping centre toilets!
