We've been on about 10 cruises and several different cruise lines (Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, Carnival). It had been a long time since we had been on a 3 or 4 day cruise. We had an ocean view cabin on Upper deck and the room was great. Our cabin steward was great also, keeping our room stocked with ice and cleaned whenever we were out and about. For one of the older ships I was pleasantly surprised how nice it is. Everything was clean and shiny. The staff was very friendly.
Music: We really miss the live tropical music they used to play on the Lido deck. We're not that old, but we just don't like the DJ concept on the LIDO deck all the time. Most of the time they play hip hop type music, they will mix in a little classic rock and county here and there. The did have some live bands on the inside of the ship and we enjoyed them.
Food: We thought the food in the main dining room was better than ever. Probably the best prime rib we've ever had on any cruise. Since the Inspiration doesn't have a steakhouse, they now offer some of the steakhouse food on the MDR menu for $20. My husband got the Filet Mignon and Lobster from the steakhouse menu and it was just as it had been on our other cruises in the Steakhouse restaurant, excellent! We had assigned seating, as we like to get to know our servers and they get to know our likes. Our wait staff (Leonardo, R Jay & Alfred) was outstanding and really made our dining experience enjoyable. We had the Mongolian Wok and some of the buffet food a couple of times which was all fine.
Great room! Nice size and nice size bathroom. Not too far from the stairs/elevators.
