This was the third time we have sailed o the Freedom so I will limit my review to things specific to this cruise. Our other reviews of past cruises on Freedom are posted previously.

Unlike the normal Eastern Caribbean itinerary for this ship, this cruise went to San Juan. The Captain told us this was because the ship has to have its bottom cleaned every six months and San Juan is the only place they can have it done. It was kind of interesting to see the scuba diver with his gear working alongside the ship. There was time to go through the fortress El Moro, which you sail past when entering the harbor. Great history presentation there and if you have a National Parks pass it is valid for entry. The other ports were the private island Coco Cay and St. Martin. It was great to be in St. Martin on a day when we were the only ship in port! Last time I think there were about seven ships in port.

The production shows were excellent and the singers were particularly good. The Elton John tribute was ok but as others have mentioned there was not enough of his music and too much attempted comedy. The comedians could have been better. The piano man in the Schooner bar was the best of his type I have ever heard on a cruise ship. The ice show was very good and they had added a skater who also did tricks with large numbers of hula hoops while skating. She was very entertaining.
