This was our second cruise, the first also being on a Holland America Canada\New England cruise on the Maasdam in 2012. The Eurodam is much larger and had almost double the number of passengers (900 v. 1800) and I was concerned about the level of service on such a larger boat. I was pleasantly surprised and was most impressed by the attention of the Holland American staff and crew. The Eurodam had more offerings than the Maasdam, although I missed the passenger interaction experience that we had on the smaller ship. The Eurodam's food service was excellent and there was an additional premier restaurant, the oriental style Tammarind. The Pinnacle Grill was larger as were the Main Dinning Room(s) and the Lido, I believe. There also were a couple of more bars and entertainment venues.
About the trip: Started in Copenhagen, arriving there a day earlier, staying at the Marriott, a good place which was busy but provided the same outstanding level of service. Purchased a Copenhagen Card and my wife and I took the buses and canal boats around the city. If I went there again, I think I would summon up the courage to rent a bike for the day. Departure was fine although the ships now dock at the new cruise terminal which is a stiff cab ride from the hotel. Also, the bus service out there is getting its sea legs. (Get the bus for UNICEF to get to the dock itself).
About the cruise - we had great weather (60 - 70s) only a brief rain in Russia, and calm seas.
We were offered a near departure reduced upgrade to a Veranda. The balcony was very nice, especially coming into and out of the destinations.
