This was our second cruise, first was a Princess cruise. We thought, wow Alaska, this will be great. It was our 30th anniversary too. What a disappointment . First let me say this, staff was awesome, always attentive and polite so I would give them an A+. Now as for the food, we looked forward to getting OFF the ship to eat, despite the high prices in the local places the food was awesome. This ships chef must hate his job, the food was never hot even in the nice dining room, we did not try the steak house but heard good things about it,it was overpriced too. Breakfast was cold, greasy, the same everyday, unless you did buffet, which was not much better. Even on the Lido deck at night it was hard to find anything worth eating. I took to ordering a grilled Ruben sandwich only because I knew it was hot food.
This ships decor is sooooooo outdated, the shows were so so, the comics and extra entertainment throughout were some of the worst I have seen, must not pay much. The one young guitar player singing at one of the bars got worse as he drank.
As far as the ports go, Skagway was my favorite, scenery around town was beautiful, food was excellent. I don't think I have seen so many jewelry stores as were in these 4 ports. Made LA look bare naked. Tours were hugely overpriced, needless to say they were totally out of our budget, so we just wandered around till it was time to go back aboard ship. We were told this would be an older crowd, no disappointment there, never seen so many overweight people in one place. Weather was mostly good, we had sunny days foggy nights. Lost me as a customer
Cabin was clean, we had doors that opened to get fresh air but had to put a bench in front of them to keep them open then could not walk around the bed. We had a view of one of the life boats. Good closet space for putting things away. Housekeeping did a wonderful job everyday.
