This was our second cruise on the QM2, the first being a TA in 2009. I must say that the liner looks pretty much the same way as it did in 2009 which was a relief to us as we love this liner! We flew into NYC a few days prior to re-visit one of our favourite cities then took a town car over to Red Hook.

Check-in: we arrived at around 12:30pm and didn't encounter any big delays however the terminal's meet and greet staff didn't bother mentioning where the grills, platinum and diamond passengers check in. I found that line off to the side and since we had to duck under the rope to get to the line we were questioned again by another shore employee if we were in the right line up. Anyway, once we had our key cards it was a straight shot onto the ship. I realized by the time of the life boat drill that although I am 52 and DH is a very fit 62 we were probably one of the 10% of the passengers who were below age 75. I don't think I've ever been on a cruise with so many passengers in wheelchairs or with walkers. The space at the front of the Britannia Restaurant looked like a valet lot for scooters and wheelchairs each night but bless them for still being able to take a cruise vacation on such a great ship.

Cabin: we had a Britannia Club cabin on Deck 12 very close to the Pavilion Pool which was great for us. Our steward Victoria was wonderful and had our ice bucket filled every afternoon in time for our in-cabin cocktail hour which was always just before our out-of-cabin cocktail hour. Well, we're on vacation right?
