Not so Royal!

I will begin this review by saying that this is only our second time in a Cruise. Our first experience was with Disney and it was amazing. To be fair, we do understand that Visions of the Sea is an older ship and if we really want to have a fair comparison we should have booked with Allure or Oasis. I know you get what you pay for. That being said, we were still disappointed in our first experience with RCI.

The cruise began very smoothly at check in, I must say that Disney could learn a few things from you guys. But things went downhill from there. Our first major disappointment was our Suite, #8540, which was located in the 8th floor right under the pool and by the door to the main stage and elevators. As soon as we walked in, we could smell an awful stench of sweat and mold. Our sheets and pillow cases were stained and there were hairs all over the bathroom and bathtub. The balcony window was very dirty and the outside table still had stains from previous wine glasses. Now, I strongly believe that the measure of a great company is seen in the way they handle a crisis or a mistake, and I must say that Royal handled our concerns in a very professional and efficient manner. The housekeeping manager Lalinda, was very helpful and concerned and our cabin was re-cleaned immediately by Julian from Honduras who did a great job for the remainder of the week, even bringing us some air fresheners and new pillows. Kudos to both for their professionalism and dedication. They went above and beyond their call of duty.

Disappointing, dirty and noisy because of its location right under the pool and by the door to the main center stage and elevators.
