Sail Date: Oct 2014

This was a very pleasant voyage, and one with some highlights as well. The departure from Tilbury was orderly, and the emergency drill very thorough, but not taxing. The general attitude of all staff and crew was welcoming, so we settled in for a relaxing holiday.

The cabin was clean, and the steward efficient, but not omnipresent. This gave us a sense of calm, and allowed us to "feel at home" in the cabin. While on the small side, the cabin provided all of the basics, and the shower had good pressure, and the wardrobe and drawer space was sufficient for an eight day cruise.

Meals were good. The quality of food in the Waldorf was of a high standard, and Sid (the maitre d') was as always friendly and entertaining. The selection at Marco's (the open dining buffet) was good, and the queues were never bad. Tables on sea days were a little tricky to get at times in Marco's, but this is to be expected.
