My wife and I just got home from our third cruise on the Norwegian Gem in the past 52 weeks. Last October, we did the Caribbean itinerary, this past August we did the Bahamas itinerary, and last week we did the Canada/New England itinerary.

For purposes of age demographics, my wife is 45 and I just turned 44 two weeks ago.

It was another fabulous cruise for us on the Gem. Even though we have now seen a lot of the shows more than once, we still find new things to do and other things are always changing, but you can't beet the feel of "family" you get on the Gem.

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SE

Great cabin! Very large - if you can afford a suite, I would say it's worth the extra money vs. a balcony stateroom. Priority embarkation and debarkation, priority tender passes, breakfast and lunch available each day in Cagney's, espresso maker in the room, treats delivered to the room every night, invitation to a VIP cocktail party, the pampering was well worth the money spent. My only complaint with the cabin was that since we had a forward facing cabin, the wind would howl through the bulkhead balcony door at night, creating a loud, whistling sound which made it difficult to fall asleep. If I pressed my shoulder against the door, it would be tight enough for it to stop the noise, but without pressing on it there was enough space for the air to come through.
