This was my 3rd cruise with Carnival Australia having cruised on the Spirit to the South pacific last year and also to Tasmania in February this year. I booked as soon as I got off the Spirit having a great time with my family again wanting to go to the South Pacific and trying out the Legend as soon as it arrived down under. We had been in an aft vista suite on the Spirit which was brilliant but could not justify the double cost so I researched here on Cruise Critic and found reference to the special feature of Cabin 7258 which is the huge balcony for the same price as an 8K extended balcony cabin. Embarkation was mostly flawless .Considering the current renovations to the overseas passenger terminal at circular quay carnival are doing a great job of moving people quickly through the terminal. We Booked all our shore excursions as we boarded wanting to do the popular behind the fun tour and the Amadee island tour in Noumea.

The ship was different in Décor than the Spirit and I would mostly say it was slightly more sedate with the notable exception being the over the top firebird lounge which I still thought was a brilliant venue. The ship is exactly the same design/layout as the Spirit so finding things was easy for us.

The food was very good on this cruise with heaps of variety and many and varied healthy alternatives available everywhere. The Lido Buffet known as the Unicorn Cafe was laid out identically as the Spirit with great hot food and variety available from each station. We had anytime dining because we love to eat late and managed to score the same wait staff most nights but it still needed to be requested. Enjoyed dinner every night here but dined in the steakhouse the first night so as to receive the complimentary bottle of wine. Great meal here and still well worth the now $40 surcharge. Also tried Freshies Corner which was very popular on a port days and the Bonsai Sushi bar which was really good value and a great spot for lunch.

Cabin Review

Extended Balcony

Cabin 8K

Standard Extended balcony room which is only a twin/double capacity but with the benefits of being a non special needs room (less chance of being moved) and a balcony 3 times longer than a balcony room. Spent a lot of time here on the balcony. It was quiet with an adjoining ice machine room which we never heard anything from.
