We were on the Dream for the big annual poker cruise. We like Carnival for the value – it’s a midrange cruising company that provides a good cruising experience at a good price. The pros and cons of our cruise follow.

Pros –

The food was good. At dinner, the every-day steak option was good. Other dishes that were good were the lobster, chateau briand, prime rib, and escargot. So we did not try the specialty restaurants, felt no need to. At breakfast, they had made-to-order egg stations that were excellent. At lunch, they had the usual suspects (hamburger, pizza, hot dogs, etc.), along with a Mongolian Wok (BBQ) and tandoori station (Indian) that were very good. Other choices as well which others liked (e.g., the made to order pasta station) that we did not try.
