My wife and I have now been on 26 RCII cruises of which 9 have been on the Eclipse, this one to the Azores and Canaries was great but could have been better if Celebrity did not keep making cut backs . The weather could have been better but at least the rain was warm. Needless to say a cruise commencing in Southampton guarantees a considerable number of wheelchairs both electric and being pushed, zimmer frames, walking sticks and crutches , etc. This is not a complaint as unfortunately my wife is on crutches and uses a wheelchair when going ashore.
Yes at last the Elite and Elite Plus members have got the privacy back in the Sky Lounge during the expected and enjoyable happy hour periods. We met 6 others we had cruised with before and it was fun exchanging experiences on other ships, the crews, the officers and the destinations. This had been missing on recent Celebrity cruises and many members had expressed their concern. It is good the Loyalty Director in Miami listens to members comments and concerns. Thank you for reinstating this much treasured experience. Fortunately there were not too many Elite members on this cruise and it was not necessary to hand out the free drink vouchers which we had been accustomed to on previous cruises. The reason may also be down to the fact that most passengers seem to have drinks packages included in their cruise.
The cut backs included, no chocolate on your pillow at night, just a chocolate covered Oreo biscuit on the first formal night. Our grand children miss the chocolates. No Brunch any more, we were told too much food was being wasted. Azamara still have it. The Elite breakfast in the Tuscan has been changed, one now has to order your food and it is served to you, previously it was help yourself. Not so many officer gatherings. Not so many officers seem to mix with the passengers.
