We have cruised many times but this was our first time with Celebrity – we’ll be back. Excellent food, service, and entertainment, and they were very good at moving people (embarkation, disembarkation, and getting off for excursions were all a breeze), but their shore excursion descriptions badly need improvement.

The cabin needed more storage space, but storage in the bathroom was good, and we loved the glass shower doors instead of the usual curtain. The screen on the phone in the cabin was so bright we had to cover it at night. Our steward was fantastic. The entertainment was a step above what we have seen on other lines and the production shows were excellent. The crew was super friendly. The TV in the cabin was interactive – you can review your account and order room service and excursions. Drinks and sodas were very expensive and there was a lot of upselling on fresh squeezed juices, etc. Unlike other ships we have been on, there was never a pre-dinner show, so the late night comedian shows were always too late for us (11:30). The ship felt very crowded in the evening and we could almost never get a seat in one of the lounges to listen to live music after dinner or after the show. The chairs in the DR and various lounges are very deep – if you’re shorter or female, you may need a cushion behind you to be comfortable. We couldn’t quite figure out what to make of our waiter, who seemed put out if passengers did not order the dishes he recommended, but his service was otherwise good and the food was good. This ship goes way overboard with the Purell police, requiring that you get your hands drenched even in lounges where there is no food. If you’re allergic to the stuff, you’ll want to bring your own.

This ship has the worst excursion descriptions I’ve ever seen, completely lacking in information that might actually be useful like what sights you will see or whether the boat used is a zodiac. If you actually want to know what you’re going to see on an excursion, you’ll have to go talk to them in person because some of the descriptions are only one sentence long and completely useless. Also, the buses are fuller than on excursions with other cruise lines. All in all, though, it was a wonderful cruise with top notch food, service, and entertainment.
