I want to preface this review with the fact that we have been on 4 prior Celebrity cruises and have loved them all. We are Captains Club members and I never understood negative Celebrity reviews until now. Still, for the most part our cruise was very good. We've done this cruise before and really enjoyed the itinerary. The food on Celebrity is outstanding in both quality and variety. There were some differences in our cruise this year and years past. Celebrity seems to be cutting back in a number of areas. I'm guessing that there are fewer people working on the ship. We only saw our cabin attendant twice the whole cruise and once was the first day. We had to leave a note to get more shampoo and ice. Still, he only brought ice the day we left a note. On all of our past cruises the room attendants are very visible and have made sure we got everything we needed. I think there may be fewer room attendants that caused this problem. In the past there were workers all over the ship dispensing hand sanitizer. There were dispensers this year but no people. Those problems are very minor and wouldn't cause me to leave a negative review.

The real problem was the guest relations department on the ship. On Tuesday I noticed that my on board credits weren't posted to my account. I took a copy of the cruise confirmation to the guest relations desk and was told by Vladimir that I had signed up for a beverage package. I showed him the confirmation again and he told me that my pass card denoted that we wanted the beverage package option. I don't understand why he would argue that I wanted a beverage package when it clearly states on my confirmation that I wanted the the on board credit. Neither my wife nor I drink so if I hadn't brought my confirmation I would have been out $200 because of their mistake.

My next problem with guest relations was also over another mistake that Celebrity made on a credit. I was sent an offer to get a Celebrity credit card that offered a $100 on board credit if you met some requirements. I got the card and met their qualifications. To get the $100 credit you have to go to their website and redeem the points from the credit card. I bought 2 $50 credits and gave the the required ship information. The credit never made it on to my account. Vladimir said he had to check with their office to see about getting my credit and that Celebrity's policy is that these problems were to be handled within 24-48 hours. Three days later I got a message on my phone that said they had no record of my applying for the credit. If they had responded, in their own specified time frame, I would have been able to go back to the website and reapply for the credit. I spoke to Celebrity's customer service department and they said they wouldn't do anything about it. I am mostly disappointed, but even more baffled that they would let a loyal repeat customer leave over what is clearly their mistake. We've booked Concierge or Aqua Class on our cruises and have another cruise booked with Celebrity next year. I'm cancelling that and won't do business with a Royal Caribbean company again.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class

Cabin A2

Don't get a room on the 9th floor. There is noise from the pool bands that goes late into the evening. Also, the balcony has a poor view. The deck from floor 10 extend over the balcony and that inhibits your ability to take pictures coming into ports. There are supports for floor 10 that also block viewing and picture taking.
