We knew this was an older ship, but the price and length of cruise were right. We decided to take this cruise due to the ports, and it turned out to be a great cruise. The Embassy Suites near the Miami International Airport was a good place to stay. They picked us up at the airport and also drove us to the pier the next morning. The airport shuttle is free, and the pier shuttle is $10.00 each or, if you book the hotel's cruise package, the pier shuttle fee is included. The embarkation at 11:30 was the easiest I have ever experienced. The same goes for the debarkation later in the week. We normally cruise out of New Orleans or Galveston, and Miami was an easier experience. The ship is smaller than what they are building today, and there are fewer activities, but we didn't mind that at all. We wanted to be able to relax and not run around doing activities. The ship is clean, and it is still being maintained. We had a minor problem with our stateroom shower, but maintenance came very quickly and resolved the issue. I found the food to be quite good, in the Windjammer and in the dining room. Don't expect soaring ceilings and a lot of decoration in the dining room. It is definitely a more intimate experience. I loved all of the entrees and appetizers. Some desserts were better than others. We usually ate in the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch. Once again, the desserts in the Windjammer were not quite up to the standard of the rest of the food. We enjoyed the guitar music in the Schooner Bar, rock music in the Centrum, salsa in the Bolero, and the Caribbean-style band by the pool. Both of the musical dance productions in the theater were enjoyable, and both featured music of the seventies. I love that music, personally, but I just want to let everyone know in case that's not your thing. The comedian was funny, especially when he was heckled during one of his shows. He had some funny comebacks at a guy sitting up front. We actually missed one night's entertainment so I don't even know what it was. Like I said, we came on this ship to relax and get away from it all.

Enjoyed the port of Nassau where we took a 3 hour tour with Cheryl's Bahama Taxi & Tour. I found her through Tripadvisor. I highly recommend touring Nassau with her company. We saw so much! Other people just wandered around near the ship and did not get to see much of Nassau. Find Cheryl on the web at www.cherylbahamastaxiandtours.com Our ship had to bypass the stop at CocoCay due to windy weather conditions. Our last stop was Key West where we toured the Truman Little White House. A great place for history buffs. I had seen the Hemingway House on a previous cruise to Key West. I also recommend it. Anyway, my husband and I had a fun cruise with just the two of us. Remember, a cruise is what you make of it. If you are looking for a huge ship with all the latest bells and whistles then don't book Majesty of the Seas. If you are a first time cruiser who just wants to see what it's like or a seasoned cruiser who just wants a short, relaxing getaway and doesn't care about outdoor theaters, ice skating rinks, and promenade areas of the larger ships, then take a trip on Majesty of the Seas and have fun. This was our 7th cruise.
