Poor yourself a cup of tea and sit back while you listen to me. We traveled on the NCL Sun from Tampa to the Western Caribbean. Embarkment was not well organized but we were more than willing to overlook that to begin. The Sun's attention to detail left us disappointed.Poor service seemed to be the theme of the week. the first night we were missing wash clothes from our stateroom. The ship was being re-carpeted throughout our cruise. One day for each hallway and another for the common areas near the elevators. Another night we decided to try Le Bistro the specialty restaurant, while the food was great the service was not. In the main dining room we found a fantastic server "Delta" and for a few of the nights we were able to be seated in her section. But as time went on her section became full and there was a 40 minute wait to be seated there. We agreed to be seated elsewhere but once again we were plagued by poor service. Many kids pool side not supervised including in the Hot Tubs. Only once did I see anyone correct the inappropriate behavior on deck.
Not much as far as evening entertainment unless you are interested in the casino. One of the shore excursions was cancelled and NCL knew it prior to us getting off the ship but kept it to themselves. Only when we were in line did we find out and then the NCL rep. & the excursion rep. were giving different stories.. Shore excursions seriously overpriced for what you're getting. Check out Trip Advisor and book your own would be my suggestion next time.
We've cruised before on Royal Caribbean this was our first NCL cruise and more than likely our last. Very disappointing.
Ok stateroom but older ship showed wear and tear. Replacing the carpet during a 7 day cruise definitely took away for the quality of the cruise. However, we had a nice view from our window.
