After being fortunate to have been on over a dozen cruises , using several cruise operators. I was looking forward to trying Princess cruises for the second time. Sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Eastern Caribbean on Royal Princess. But I arrive home to the uk , thinking it was not the best I've been on.

Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful ship. Clean, modern and everywhere pleasing to the eye. But I can't help thinking these big ships just don't have the same atmosphere as the mid size ships. My main disappointment on Royal was the dining experience. We went freedom dining and the service was not as good as P&O or Royal Caribbean experienced on previous cruises. Very slow staff on all nights, poor menu choices.

We like to join in on the entertainment , but a couple of the cruise staff where very poor. One in particular insisted on shouting into the microphone for everything she did. The pool side horse race , was unbearable . With passengers walking out on her event. Who on earth assess these entertainment staff, god only knows.
